The doctor cuts a strip of size 1-1.5 x 15-30 cm from the donor or hairy patch from the patient himself. While removing fatty tissue underneath, care must be taken so as not harm follicular cells. The surgeon prepares the recipient site by making punctures into the scalp using a very thin needle. The donor grafts are then transplanted at the recipient site. The density is determined by the pattern of baldness and is often decided before the procedure. A density of 50 grafts per square cm is generally considered sufficient enough to cover any baldness. The recovery begins after the procedure and continues over next several weeks.

Day 1 to 12
On the next day of the procedure, the scalp is washed clean with an antibacterial chemical shampoo. Blood in grafts is removed and the hair is washed thoroughly. After the procedure, it is natural to feel some numbness and tingling sensation at the donor site. The recipient site is also red and swollen. You should expect the swelling to subside by the end of the week. Redness and pain also diminishes eventually.

Tips To Stop Hair Loss

Ever wished you had a magic potion that would stop hair loss immediately. Who would not want to have something like that? But what people do not know that there are such magic potions that can prevent hair fall. All you need to do is to know what they are.

To prevent hair fall you need to have the right food. Your daily meal must contain a good amount of vitamins and minerals, proteins etc. A balanced diet is the key to healthy hair.

First of all, you have to take a good amount of biotin in your meals. Studies show that biotin is the best cure for hair fall. This not only prevents hair fall but also at the same time promotes hair growth. Another study show that intake of biotin has helped people suffering from alopecia to regain the thickness of hair successfully.

Now the question is what are the foods that contain biotin? Breads, cauliflower, egg yolks, nuts, dairy products, oatmeal — these are a good source of biotin.

Next in line is zinc. It works wonders to prevent hair fall. In order to have zinc you need to have beef, chicken, salmon etc.

We all know that green tea is an excellent anti-oxidant. But do we know that it helps to stop hair fall. Just make a mixture of rosemary, nettle tea, and sage and drink that mixture everyday. Just in case if you do not like the taste, then you can massage your scalp with this mixture as well. It is believed that the green tea increases the blood circulation in the scalp that promotes hair growth.

Other than taking the right food there is something else you have to do to get the right results. You have to massage the scalp regularly. Massage increases the blood flow in the scalp. This prevents the hair fall and promotes hair growth. For better results with massage, use coconut oil or castor oil, or a mixture of both. Oil is beneficial to hair.

Last but not the least; apply the juice of an onion on the scalp every alternate day. Keep the juice on the scalp for 10 minutes and then wash it with water. See the difference yourself.
