Hair Styling Tips

Always use a protecting spray when blow drying your hair, this helps from damaging your hair. Then do a few more quick spray of the protector before straightening it. To really get a good hold use an extreme hold hair spray.

Colors are always a good way to make an emo style stand out. For those who can't color their hair, pick up some non-permanent hair color. It is temporary and will wash right out. You can find them in sprays and gels. All colors too- red, black, purple, blue, pink, green, teal, yellow, aqua, etc. You can always use more than one color!

The cut says it all. Short or long- it doesn't matter. Cut or have your hair cut in choppy, uneven layers. Side bangs are the bomb! Throwing some color in them will def. draw some attention. Using a razor will give you more texture- which is a great thing with emo hair.

If your hair is thick and you want it thinner to style better- use or have your stylist use a thinning sheer- this while thin out your hair (but not too much) and also give you texture.

Prom Hairstyles: 3 DIY Hairstyles for Prom Night

If you are thinking of some DIY prom hairstyles for your Prom Night, you are in the right place. Here are three hot prom hairstyles you can whip up at home easily without any help from hairstylists.

The Chignon

This one's a classic prom hairstyles and has been seen more times on the red carpet recently than Cate Blanchette. This prom hairstyle is a favorite of ours for two reasons: First, it's super easy to do and, second, its looks chic without looking too "made up".

To create your own chignon smooth your hair back and gather it into a low lying ponytail and secure with clear elastic or one that closely matches your hair color. Now grab the ponytail and twist it like a telephone cord. Wrap the spiraled ponytail around the base of the ponytail pinning around the 'bun' as you go. Don't worry if a few end poke out that only adds character to the style. Secure well and give a very light mist of hairspray to hold.

The Half-Up Do

This prom hairstyle works on many levels. It's elegant enough to see you through even the most sophisticated of prom events but has a soft, romantic feel to it also. This one's also easy to do at home if you have a little hair skill but if not book an appointment'it'll be worth it.

To create this style set long hair in medium sized hot or Velcro rollers. Once the hair is set gently take hair out of rollers and finger comb to separate the curls. Now loosely gather the sides of your hair'make sure you leave some height at the top'and secure it with a gorgeous hair clip just below the crown of your head. Pull a few tendrils out around the face to soften the look. Bangs should be swept to the side and hairspray should be kept to a minimum to ensure the hair still moves.

A Pin Curl Twist

This one's is a little trickier to do but the results are a very edgy yet elegant prom hairstyle. If you've got a good deal of hair savvy this one is possible but it's even easier if you team up with a friend and let them do it for you.

Start with hair that's been washed the night before'hair that's too clean is slippery and won't stay in place. Take a two inch wide section of your bangs and pin the hair back to the crown of your head. If you have short bangs use small jeweled hair clips to pin them back or two the side.

Simple Steps in Fighting Excessive Hairfall

Having excessive falling hair is a condition that is commonly shared by a lot of people. Many factors contribute to this, such as stress and tension, poor diet and malnutrition, hormonal imbalance, over-processing of the hair, and frequent use of styling products and chemicals, to name a few. Just because it is a common condition does not mean that it should be ignored and left untreated. If you allow the condition to persist, you might find yourself dealing with bigger problems in the future, such as hair loss and baldness. If you suffer from excessive hair fall, here are some simple steps to follow in order to arrest the problem.

Reassess your diet and eating habits. Make sure that you are providing your body with the right amount of vitamins and nutrients. Eat a lot of food rich in protein and Vitamins B and E, as these promote the growth of healthy and lustrous hair.

Avoid combing or brushing your hair when it is wet and refrain from putting it up on a ponytail or a tight bun. Hair is at its weakest when wet and brushing or combing it makes it prone to splitting and breakage. Fixing your hair up in a very tight hairstyle may also cause unnecessary damage to the hair follicles and may result to hair loss.

Lastly, always keep your scalp clean and free of dirt or product buildup. Wash it on a daily basis to get rid of dirt, grime, excess sebum, and styling product buildup. Massage it every so often to aid in the circulation of blood to the scalp. This allows the scalp and the hair follicles to breathe and to stimulate the growth and production of healthy hair.

Prom Hairstyles: Prom Night with Long Layer Style

If you’re in the market for a new look, you owe it to yourself to take a look at some long layered hairstyles. This extremely versatile cut suits a wide variety of face shapes and can be as casual or dressy as you need to be. By simply keeping a few things in mind, you can find the layered style that's perfect for you.

A layered look will let you keep the length of your hair while allowing you to achieve a softly feminine look around your face. Don’t be afraid to find the style that suits your face shape the best! Locks that are cut to chin-length give round faces some much-needed length. With longer faces, consider a series of short layers that will show off the angles of cheekbones and the shape of your chin. Depending on your personal style, you can go for long, gently-falling layers or for a more abrupt, choppy cut, which will provide you with a more aggressively modern look.

One advantage of long layered hairstyles is the fact that they require very little maintenance and preparation to look good. A quick trim every six weeks from a stylist who is familiar with your hair should do, and the rest of the time, you can pull your hair up or back or leave it loose. For a sporty, playful look, pull back your hair but leave long tendrils to frame your face. If you're interested in a more mature, sensual look, try combing some leave-in conditioner into your hair and then use your hands to give it some gentle waves.

Layering is an excellent option for many women, so consider this attractive style today. In terms of versatility and attractiveness, long layered hairstyles may be perfect for you!

You can pick your hair style from a number of 2008/2009 prom hairstyles. The hairstyles are really sexy to give you an alluring look. The most popular of them is the up do hair style. In this style the hair are tied up tight on the top of your head exposing your neck. The naked neck gives you a sensuous look.

You can make a French twist yourself easily. Or ask your hairstylist for a little attention. All you have to do is to part your front hair and hold the back hair tightly. Then twist the hair upwards and fix the ends with a bobby pin. You can decorate the twist with hair accessories like jewels and flowers.

You can also romanticize the evening with romantic hair styles. The most romantic hair style is the one with a lot of curls. The hairstyle can make you feel romantic. If you have natural curls then you are blessed. You can tie your hair up high and pin tightly leaving the curls to flow down. The people with straight hair can curl them up by using hot curlers. Straight hair have their own sex appeal. Long sleek and straight hair look really sexy but your hair should be in good condition.

Short crop hairstyles are also in vogue among the 2008 prom hairstyles. The long and smoky waves are the taste of the season as well. You can make waves in your hair by applying light rollers for a shorter duration. A tight ponytail or letting them down are both good styles for smoky hair.

Guys can enhance their sex appeal by a few highlights and the right gel to give a desirable look to the hair. Rock the prom with these hot 2008/2009 prom hairstyles.
